Day 3 of my Xdrive not being an Xdrive. Several 11s have been laid, and lots of dirt drifting has been did. Also yesterday I took the car on a 300 mil trip with no problems, aside from not having cruise control.
Also this happened
And a glitch in the matrix

Another way your car is telling you, you should have gone rwd.

Isn’t xDrive 40:60 default front:rear split? So when it fails does it not do anything except 40:60 or it does full 0:100?

Xdrive is part time. Front only kicks in when a slip is detected. The transfer case has a wet clutch pack, a motor engages the clutches at verifying degrees depending on what the computer thinks the front wheels need.
So yeah when stability control is out like it is now you get 0 power to the front wheels

It found out I was looking into a way toswitch off he AWD for the summer so when the temps got over 50 it “broke” itself.
Also no one has made a programmer that does this on demand.

Not part time .I believe that Slip and Grip xDrive’s only on the FWD based X1
e90 3 series have the older system that does the 40:60 split

So I guess it goes 0:100 when stability and or awd system fails.

I haven’t heard ever of such a device, but whoever comes up with it successfully will have my respect.
